Valdese- The annual grudge match between the Heritage and East Burke Middle football teams was held on the gridiron at Draughn.
After a scoreless first quarter, the visiting Raiders took over to lead 14-0 at the halftime break en-route to a 30-6 victory.
Levi Coble (10 yd run) and Jacob Dellinger (33 yd run) each traded second-quarter touchdown runs for EBMS (3-3).
Coble (5 yd run) and Dellinger (3 yd run) struck again in the fourth quarter to put the win to rest with Dellinger finishing with 231 rushing yards.
The Eagles (0-4) eventually got on the board off a 50-yard pass from Kelton Mitchell to Malachi Silver.
Mitchell led HMS with 52 rushing yards while Silver also took snaps under center for the Eagles.
Defense was also the key to victory for the Raiders forcing three turnovers (two INTs, lost fumble).
Coble (TFL), Dellinger (fumble recovery), Hayden Parker (sack), Darren Hammons (TFL), KJ Byrd (INT), and Caden Buff (INT) led the Raiders defense.
Mitchell, Will Seagle (TFL), Fisher Shew (fumble recovery), and Hampton Blackwell (fumble recovery) led the Eagles defense.
East Burke hosts its final game of the season next Wednesday vs. East McDowell.
Heritage is on the road vs. West McDowell.
