Cavs take Cats in volleyball, soccer

Icard- The rivalry between Draughn and East Burke resumed Monday on the volleyball court with the Lady Cavs winning the three-set sweep (25-23, 25-16, 25-23).

Erica Clontz led EB (10-2, 5-2 NWFAC) with 20 kills and three aces and Graleigh Hildebran (21 assists) and Ashlyn Stilwell (14 digs) also being key stat leaders.

"This was a great win for us," said East Burke volleyball coach Tracy Greene. "We struggled a couple moments but they battled through it."

Chloe Gary provided four service aces for the Lady Wildcats (9-5, 4-3) with Kirsten Powell, Georgia Goulding, and Sara Walker being key in keeping the scores close.

Soccer: East Burke 11, Draughn 0
Antony Salgado-Rodriguez recorded his second 3-goal hat trick of the season and provided two assists in leading the Cavs (3-6-1, 1-2 NWFAC).

Brandon Pruett (2), Anthony Thao, Josh Aguirre, Micah Chrisco, Brandon Cuellar, Bryan Hernandez, and Aiden Ledford also recorded a goal for EB.

Chrisco also added four Cavalier assists with Cuellar, Hernandez, and Pruett also providing an assist.

Garrett Pitts recorded five saves and the shutout in-goal.
