Statesville- The East Burke cross country teams swept Tuesday's Northwestern Foothills 2A Conference meet hosted by West Iredell.
The Cavalier boys, winners of three meets so far this season, scored 44 total points and was led at the finish line by Logan Shuford (2nd, 17:52.92) and Luke Elliott (5th, 18:43.67).
Clay Seagle (11th, 19:08.17), Shane Feamster (12th, 19:09.42), and Ayden Lingerfelt (14th, 19:20.99) finished under 20 minutes for the Cavaliers.
Draughn senior Tommy Blackwell picked up his first 5K race win (17:52.14) of the season leading the Wildcats (65 pts) to a second-place finish.
Other key Wildcat runners included Reed Farrar (4th, 18:31.99), Andrew Albright (10th, 19:07.17), and Ben Teffeteller (15th, 19:45.74).
The Lady Cavaliers (1st, 26 pts) were led in succession by Mekenzie Harris (2nd, 23:23.14), Meah Walsh (3rd, 24:05.67), and Gracie Ruff (4th, 24:21.36).
Brittany Hathaway (12th, 26:12.39) was the top runner for the Lady Wildcats (4th, 99 pts) followed by Regen Bridges (13th, 26:33.08) and Savannah Gentieu (24th, 28:21.14).
The next conference meet takes place next Wednesday at Western Piedmont Community College and hosted by Patton.
