The Draughn softball team starts off the 2022 season on a three-game undefeated streak gaining key wins this week over Watauga 15-5 and Hibriten 8-7.
Senior Regan Winkler led the Lady Cats with seven RBIs (5 vs. Watauga) and six hits with Katie Cozort adding six runs, five hits, and four RBIs (3 hits & 3 runs vs. Hibriten).
Other key Draughn batters included Maddison Powell (4 hits, 2 runs, RBI), Brianna Nations (4 hits, 2 runs, 2 RBIs), Maddie Crouch (3 hits, 3 runs), and Aubrie Snyder (3 hits, 4 RBIs).
Katie Hamm also added three hits, two RBIs, and two runs in Tuesday's home win over Watauga and Addison Poteet scored two runs.
Hamm got the win at Hibriten pitching all seven innings with tossing three strikeouts.
Laney Winebarger was the winning pitcher vs. Watauga tossing three strikeouts in three relief innings.
Winkler, Crouch, and Nations were key defensive contributors for the Lady Wildcats this week.
