EB volleyball completes 3-0 week

Icard- The East Burke volleyball team enjoyed a 3-0 week that included persevered five-set wins over Bunker Hill and Shelby.

Vs the Lady Golden Lions Thursday night, the Lady Cavs (8-1, 3-1 NWFAC) dominated set one play with strong play at the net by Erica Clontz and Riley Haas and Kendall Buff at the service line.

Shelby gained leads of 7-2, 10-6, and 14-7 to win set two and even Thursday's non-conference matchup.

Clontz pounded on six Lady Cavalier kills to lead in set three with two Sara Suddreth serves and a Graleigh Hildebran kill wrapping it up..

Set four saw nine ties with EB only leading three times as Shelby forced a decisive fifth set.

Buff opened the last set of play with a kill but Shelby came back to gain an early lead.

The Lady Cavaliers then went to work to get back ahead with Clontz and Haas at the net and Faith McDowell adding a block.

The win was wrapped up with four kills by Clontz to add to her season-high total of 33.

EB gets back in Northwestern Foothills 2A Conference play Monday in a road game with Hibriten as the Lady Cavs are in a three-way tie for second place.
