Valdese sweeps Salem

Valdese- The Valdese Tigers hosted their first home games of the 2019 Burke County Recreation League season Saturday at Joe Temple Field vs. Salem winning all three matchups.

Pony Division
Valdese 26, Salem 22

Preston Radabaugh scored all four touchdown for Valdese (1-1) from 53 (2x), 6, and 38 yards in the win with also adding a sack on defense.

Mustang Division
Valdese 36, Salem 6

Lathan McManus (35, 1) and Kam O'Dell (3, 2) scored two touchdown runs for Valdese (1-1) with O'Dell adding two 2 point conversion runs.

Gage Smith added a one-yard touchdown run while O'Dell, Nolan Russ, Bryson Linebarger, and Larry Sarver each registered a tackle for loss on defense.

Bronco Division
Valdese 52, Salem 0

D'andre Moore opened scoring play for Valdese with a ten-yard pass to Alex Ryan and then added five more touchdowns (four rush, kick return) leading the Tigers to a 2-0 mark in league play.

Moore's touchdown runs went for 12, 41, 49, and 55 yards and returned a punt score for 62 yards.

He was also in on two 2 point conversion runs with Henry Cooper and Lane Charlet also punching in conversion runs.

Ryan completed Valdese scoring with a 25-yard touchdown run.

Cooper, Jay Corpening, and Devin Wright recorded a tackle for loss on defense with Jean Garcia blocking a punt.
