Morganton- The East Burke Middle football team only needed seven plays to lead host Liberty 24-0 in the first half of Wednesday's Foothills Athletic Conference contest en-route to a 30-8 victory for the Raiders.
"It was a big win for our kids, anytime you break a losing streak is a good win," said East Burke Middle head coach Mitchell McGuire. "We got three games left and got a shot at a couple wins to finish in a good spot in the conference."
Jacob Dellinger, recording a game-high 195 rushing yards on eight carries, struck on the first play off a 35-yard touchdown run.
After forcing Liberty into a three and out on their opening drive, a 46 yard run by Dellinger set up a nine-yard touchdown run by Levi Coble.
Dellinger added a 53-yard touchdown run to cap the Raiders first-half scoring with adding a two-point conversion run.
Asher Gebhard also punched in two 2 point conversion runs while completing EB's only pass - a 19-yard completion to Grayson Phillips.
Coble scored on a six-yard third-quarter touchdown run to finish with 46 rushing yards on six carries.
Hayden Parker led the Raiders defensively with a sack and fumble recovery.
